Konchalovsky's film nominated for main award of Venice Film Festival

Dear Comrades! by the famous Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky has been included in the main competition of the 77th Venice Film Festival. It will be held from 2 to 12 September, becoming the first world-class film festival held offline, according to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

The feature tells about the unrest of Novocherkassk workers in 1962. The protagonist of Konchalovsky's film is a party worker who deeply experiences the tragic events in Novocherkassk in 1962, since they affected his loved ones. It is not the first time Konchalovsky participates in the competition program of the Venice Film Festival. Some of his works were already awarded at the forum. 

Films from Mexico, Japan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Israel and other countries will also compete for the Golden Lion.

Conference by Ivan Tverdovsky, which has a plot related to the events of the terrorist act on Dubrovka, and Kitboy by Philip Yuriev, telling the story of a 15-year-old boy who went on a sea voyage in search of adventure, are taking part in the Venice Days competition.
