Neither US President Harry Truman, who headed the country in 1945, when the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki took place, nor subsequent American leaders apologized for the tragedy, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted. Russian diplomats called the bombing of Hiroshima "a barbaric show of force," TASS writes.

Remembering the victims of the atomic bombs that the Americans dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, none of Japan's politicians named those responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people, RIA Novosti reports. The traditional commemorative ceremony took place on August, 6. It was attended by the head of government and other officials. They didn't mention that the United States is the only one to have used nuclear weapons in its entire history.

Only TBS, which broadcast live from the Peace Park, recalled that the United States was responsible for the nuclear bombing.

The head of the Japanese government, Fumio Kishida, noted that more than 100,000 people died 78 years ago. According to him, a scorched desert appeared on the site of the city, and people lost their dreams and future. But he did not say who took them away from people. However, the prime minister mentioned Russia, which allegedly threatens with nuclear weapons.

The governor of Hiroshima, who issued the traditional Declaration of Peace, also said that Russia was threatening with weapons, as was North Korea.

In his message, UN Secretary General António Guterres also chose not to mention Washington.

Representatives of Russia and Belarus were not invited to the ceremony, just like last year.

The United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki 78 years ago, at the end of World War II, in order to hasten the surrender of Japan. No one else in the history of mankind has used nuclear weapons for combat purposes.

On August 6, 1945, an explosion in Hiroshima killed up to 100,000 people. Many survivors later died from the aftereffects of the attack, bringing the total to more than 308,000 victims. Three days later, on August 9, Nagasaki was razed to the ground. About 70,000 inhabitants immediately died in the city, the total number of victims exceeded 175,000 people.
