The memory of Soviet soldiers was honored in Zhangbei, China, TASS reports with reference to the Russian Embassy in China. Wreaths and flowers at the memorial to Soviet and Mongolian soldiers and officers who fought against the Japanese invaders for the freedom of the Chinese people were laid by the diplomats of Russia and other states. They honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence.

The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic missions of the CIS countries and Mongolia, representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a Chinese delegation headed by the Deputy Mayor of Zhangjiakou. They were joined by the Chinese military and Russian compatriots.

Soviet and Mongolian soldiers and officers who fell in battle during the liberation of Zhangbei County from Japanese militarists were buried on Mount Yahulin in 1945. A memorial was erected there in 1957. The Chinese side and Russian diplomats are doing a lot to keep it in proper condition.

Flowers were laid at the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators in the center of Budapest, on Sabadshag Square. In addition to representatives of Russia, diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, China and Serbia took part in the ceremony. Russian compatriots and public figures came to honor the memory of the heroes, including representatives of the Hungarian-Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Ties.

The commemorative ceremony and the Immortal Regiment campaign also took place at the memorial at the Kerepesi cemetery in Budapest, where 7,000 Red Army soldiers are buried.

In Israel, the ambassadors of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Belarus, representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, clerics and public figures gathered in the Red Army forest. It is located near Jerusalem. Russian Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov recalled that for many years the Red Army Forest "was the only one in Israel" a memorial site in honor of the events of the war years. Now there are more than 60 such memorials throughout the country. The diplomat is sure that Victory Day would be widely celebrated throughout Israel this year.
