The audience of the Russian-language resources of the UN is growing, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. In her opinion, this proves that the need for information in Russian is also increasing, TASS reports. She noted that these data should contribute to the work aimed at maintaining language parity in the world organization.

Zakharova called on the UN Secretariat to reallocate existing resources and reduce the bias towards English.

The MFA spokeperson is sure that the work of the Department of Global Communications to promote the main goals and objectives of the organization should be based on the principles of equal representation of the official languages of the UN, so that the widest possible audience has access to verified and objective information.
