Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov set off on a trip to Latin America

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov started his trip to Latin America, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. He will visit Brazil, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. The Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with colleagues from Latin American countries.

The ministry notes that Sergey Lavrov's trip is aimed at developing cooperation between countries in all areas, from trade and economy to politics and culture. The key topic of discussion will be the strengthening of modern international law based on the solid foundation of the UN Charter.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called Latin America a friendly region. It is one of the important centers for the creation of a multipolar world. Moscow intends to maintain a close dialogue with these countries, to deepen constructive cooperation that is not subject to any influence from outside.
