New Year Russian-style celebrated in Granada

22.12.2020

In the online living room of the Russian Center of the University of Granada, a friendly meeting with students and everyone was held to talk about how the New Year is celebrated in Russia.

At the event, they talked about the history of the New Year's celebration, how Russians decorate the house and the Christmas tree, who are the main characters of this holiday, how they set the table and what is served for a festive dinner, how children dress up and adults dress. The participants wrote a letter to Santa Claus and passed a small test competition on the knowledge of the traditions of celebrating the New Year in Russia.

The online meeting was joined not only by students of the Russian Center, but also by foreigners studying Russian from other cities in Spain and even countries. Many were in New Year's costumes and everyone was in a great mood.
