The ''With Hope'' organization of Russian compatriots held a New Year's party in Latakia. Gifts for the children were donated by the Moscow government, which also assisted in holding the festive event, the telegram channel of the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Syria reports.

The holiday program included songs and dances. The children became participants in the matinee and prepared performances.

The guests and participants of the New Year's party really enjoyed the matinee. The organizers thanked the government of the Russian capital for the gifts provided and assistance in organizing the event.

Russia regularly provides assistance to the population of Syria. Last fall, the Russian military handed over humanitarian aid to Syrian schoolchildren in the Rif Damascus province. The children received sweet gifts, sports equipment, and Russian fairy tales translated into Arabic. Educational equipment and food were donated to schools.
