Russia has supplied Venezuela with a cure for the coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports. According to the country's leader, Nicolas Maduro, thousands of doses of Avafavir have already been delivered to the Latin American republic.
The President of Venezuela highly praised the drug, noting that it had a noticeable effect in the treatment of patients in serious condition. Russia has sent medicine to save lives, Maduro stressed. He added that Venezuelans would receive the drug free of charge.
As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, the manufacturer of the Russian Avifavir, the Kromis company, had agreed on deliveries to El Salvador, Paraguay, Bolivia, Honduras, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador. The agreement provides for the supply of at least 150,000 packages of the drug.
The partners will be given the technology for obtaining the finished dosage form of Avivavir. This step will reduce waiting times, shipping costs and the time it takes to introduce the drug into therapy. In addition, Avifavir will be supplied to South Africa.
