Many countries want to cooperate with Russia on the supply and production of Russian vaccines against coronavirus. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a speech at a meeting of the East Asia Summit. It took place on Saturday, November 14, online, according to the website of the President of Russia.

The head of state noted that Russia had developed the world's first vaccine, a second drug has already been registered, and a third is expected soon.

Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the population of all countries should not have barriers to vaccination. He also promised that in the future, Russian partners will receive test systems for diagnosing the disease. To date, more than forty countries have received over a million Russian tests, the president said.

Vladimir Putin recalled that four years ago Moscow came up with a proposal to start cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region against infectious diseases. The program made it possible to start training specialists, conduct exchanges of experience, and interact with epidemiological departments. In addition, a center for advanced training of epidemiologists operates in Vladivostok.

The work of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Center for Military Medicine is of great benefit. It was created in Bangkok with the assistance of Russia.

Russia is ready to actively cooperate with other countries in the future in the fight against the pandemic, Vladimir Putin assured. He has no doubt that the future of the region depends on how strong the will of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to cooperate for common development. An important condition is rallying in the face of new threats and challenges, the head of state summed up.
