Online literature collections for children, lectures, educational programs, creative meetings with writers and actors have been launched by the leading libraries of Russia, which, due to the spread of the coronavirus, cannot receive visitors anymore, the website of the Ministry of Culture of Russia reports.

The largest Russian libraries previously had an impressive catalog of digitized books that are available on the Internet. For example, the Electronic Library of the Russian State Library (RSL) has a fund of one and a half million copies. The RSL exhibitions are also available on the website.

The Russian State Children's Library presented an illustrated catalog of recommended literature and launched a number of educational projects aimed at introducing children to reading.

The Russian State Library for Youth will present video lectures that reveal various issues of science and technology. On Saturday, March 28, the library will open a two-week educational campaign called Digital Dictation, aimed at improving digital literacy.

The Russian State Library of Art has announced the preparation of meetings with prominent cultural figures in a live online broadcast. In April, meetings are planned with the rector of the Shchepkin Theater School Boris Lyubimov, actor Igor Yasulovich and Shakespeare scholar Alexei Bartoshevich.
