Russian test systems designed to diagnose coronavirus have been handed over to the Iranian authorities, RIA Novosti reports. As Rospotrebnadzor explained, 500 sets are enough to carry out 50,000 studies. The department added that the epidemic situation is worsening in Iran due to the spread of the new virus.
Earlier, countries belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS received funds for laboratory diagnosis of the new coronavirus. Prior to this, test systems for determining the virus were sent to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Funds also went to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Mongolia and North Korea. In total, Russia sent about 800 test systems to other countries.
Rospotrebnadzor explained that cooperation in the field of combating epidemics, which includes a free supply of modern means of diagnosing and preventing infections, makes a great contribution to protecting public health in the Eurasian space.
