Russophobia has become a component of the political course and public rhetoric in the Baltic republics, Georgia, Poland and Ukraine. The manifestations of hatred towards Russia of an overt racist nature are not prosecuted, and even openly encouraged.

This was stated by Marina Korunova, a member of the delegation of our country, during her speech at the meeting of the UN Human Rights Council. It took place on Tuesday, June 25, in Geneva, TASS reports.

Moreover, the representative of Russia stressed, the authorities of these countries are pursuing a discriminatory policy against the Russian language and cultural heritage.

Marina Korunova thanked the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet for her constant attention to countering contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination. And here, the diplomat added, it is necessary to separately mention the difficult situation in Ukraine, the Baltic states, Poland and Georgia.

Deputy Head of Russian delegation called on Michelle Bachelet and her management to “closely monitor the implementation by the authorities of these states of their international obligations in the field of human rights.”
