Russian Maslenitsa widely celebrated in Frankfurt

Russian compatriots celebrated Maslenitsa widely in Frankfurt, Moskovskij Komsomolets newspaper writes.   Carnival period coinciding with Maslenitsa, Germans call “the fifth season.” Istok Cultural Center organized the event.

Not only Russian compatriots but also locals joined the celebration. There are participants in costumes and masks, princesses and princes, people in Russian folk costumes with Pavlovsky Posad shawls.

Open air games and round dances for kids, Russian folk songs, national cuisine with the highlight of the day – typical crepes with various toppings were in the program.
