Compatriots in Germany start New Year celebrations

Russkoye Pole websiteAnnual Russian New Year Trees (Russkiy Yolki) celebrations organized by Istok cultural-educational center started in Frankfurt-am-Mein, according to Russkoye Pole website. More than 750 children of Russian compatriots accompanied by adults who did not mind to have fun too attended the event.

Students of Istok center and their teachers staged a kind fairytale based on various cartoons’ plots, in particular, well-loved Masha and Bear animation. Organizers of the holiday involved children into the New Year round dancing. Traditionally, the sly fox and angry wolf tried to derail the celebrations by stealing New Year lights, but eventually Father Frost could light the New Year Tree.

There were riddles, songs, dances, so it was real New Year holiday. Young dancers from Century ballet studio were spinning around on the stage like little snowflakes. When dolls in pointe shoes came to life, spectators started applauding filled with delight.

The celebrations ended up with brilliant performance of all actors and animators taking part in the event. Fifty people from Istok center were on the stage simultaneously. To bring joy and do good before Christmas and New Year is a tradition for these people.
