The puck of the Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals team topped the ranking of the best goals of the National Hockey League (NHL) for 2018, News.ru website reports.

Experts highly rates Ovechkin’s shot at a match with Winnipeg team. This puck became six-hundredth for all the years Ovechkin spent in the NHL.

Earlier, Ovechkin was awarded the title of the most valuable player in the NHL. Last season his team won the Stanley Cup. Washington Capitals, as well as Ovechkin himself, won the prestigious trophy for the first time. The Russian hockey player was also recognized the best sniper of both the regular championship and the playoffs. He scored 49 and 15 plucks respectively.  

Russkiy Mir reported that Ovechkin made the top 25 best players in the history of the NHL. The 33-year-old striker ranked 16th. Ovechkin was also among 20 best snipers in the history of the NHL. Last season he became the team's top scorer for the twelfth time in a row, setting a new league record. In addition, last year he was included in the list of the hundred of the greatest NHL players in history.
