Russian Book Fair opens in Paris

Russian Book Fair opens today, October 5th in the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris, Maxime & Co website reports. Russian Literature - 4th Issue fair will introduce all charachteristics of diverce literature life in Russia. Russian-language literature pieces issued in France to be shoed at the event as well. 

Russian Book Fair takes place in Paris every two years. It unites writers, publishers, literary critics, agents, translators and readers. 

Fiction and non-fiction written in Russian and translated in French as well as books inspired by Russia written by French authors presented at the fair.

Not only book fair, but also Russian films screening, discussions dedicated to Russian history and Russian-French connections, art classes, theater happenings, art exhibitions are in the program.  

Northern people literature is a particular section; it's devoted to population living on the 10,000 km territory.

200th anniversary of great Russian writer Ivan Turgenev is going to be marked at this fair. The writer lived for many years in France being strongly connected to the culture of this country. 100 years anniversary of Soviet Union exile, Nobel laureate Aleksander Solzhenitsyn is going to be celebrated as well.
