The 2nd International Festival The World of Russian Theatre starts in the capital city of Germany. The best Russian-speaking, European and American theatres will perform at the stage of the Admiral Palace. The most anticipated event of the theatre festival will be a creative evening of Rector of the famous Shchukin Theatrical Institute Evgeny Knyazev, the Russian Newspaper writes.

8 theatre performances that have already had great success on stages of Germany, the UK, Israel, Poland, Switzerland and the US will be demonstrated at the festival. These stagings were carefully selected by the expert jury for a month. Overall, there were 20 performances initially, then only 12 of them  were selected at the preliminary stage, then the other 4 were gone to leave only 8 best stagings.

According to the professor from the Moscow Academic Art Theatre, one or two best stagings will be brought to Moscow. Despite the preliminary selection, the festival itself will not have a jury or nominees. According to one of the organizers, the editor-in-chief of the Theatre-goer magazine Valery Yakov, the festival represents, first of all, the ground for Russian-speaking theatre bands with different level of opportunities which new spectators might encounter. The organizer has added that all the continents, apart from the Antarctic Continent, have Russian theatres and the purpose of this particular festival is to support the creative compatriots who familiarize the world community with the theatrical, linguistic and literary heritage of the Russian World by mere enthusiasm.

Apart from the extensive theatrical program, the citizens and guests of Berlin will be able to attend  master-classes of well-known theatre critics, film directors and journalists, who will talk on some secrets of the prominent theatrical stagings, on interaction of a film director, an art director, a composer and actors while preparing for the stagings.

The key event in a sequence of the cultural events will be the creative evening with actor, Rector of the famous Shchukin Theatrical Institute Evgeny Knyazev, who will perform The Queen of the Spades one-man show at his creative evening.
