Nebenzya: the West benefits from tension between Russia and Ukraine

The West is stuck at complete informational vacuum from what is really happening at Ukraine, according to the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, who made this statement at the public session of the UN Security Council. For the first time over the last 1, 5 years its central topic was situation in the southeast of Ukraine, TASS informs.

Russian diplomat has explained that the Western countries have isolated themselves consuming only "clichés of the Western media" and reports of their "Ukrainian fosterlings."

Vasily Nebenzya is sure that nobody of his Western colleagues tried to analyze social-political environment at Ukraine. “Either you do not know who you are dealing with or you are deliberately ignoring this fact. So, unfortunately, there are parties among you disinterested in settling the Ukrainian conflict at all. All they need is tension at the borders with Russia,” Nebenzya said.

According to Nebenzya, schizoid trends are tracked down in the Ukrainian ideology: Kiev is trying to build a pantheon of new national heroes, including fighters for its freedom. At this, the Russian diplomat added that there is almost nobody to choose from, so the leading positions are taken by members and leaders of the Ukrainian Nationalists who used to collaborate with the Nazis during WW2. The only thing that matters is that these heroes are against the Russian Federation.

Kiev is attacking basic human rights and freedoms applying methods of the police government and welcoming growth of extremists’ and neo-Nazis’ moods. Besides, compulsory Ukrainization  is actively popularized, which is proved by the fact that the new law on education is banning the Russian language from the educational system of the country.
