Figurative Diaspora exhibition in New York

Figurative Diaspora presents works of "unofficial art" created by 5 Russian artists of the Soviet era and 5 contemporary Chinese artists at The New York Academy of Art from January 16 to March 4. The show is curated by Peter Drake and painter Mark Tansey. This exhibition aims to trace the direct artistic influence of the USSR on the artists.

Works of "unofficial art" is represented by 5 Russian artists - Erik Bulatov, Alexander Kosolapov, Komar and Melamid, Irina Nakhova and Oleg Vassiliev, and 5 contemporary Chinese artists - Yu Hong, Ni Jun, Liu Xiaodong, Lu Liang and Xie Dongming.
