CulturaFest in Helsinki gathered creatives from Finland and Russia

First International festival CulturaFest is held in Helsinki, reports Yle portal. The festival aims intercultural dialogue between Russian and Finnish artists.

According to the organizer Anna Sidorova, this event helps Russian compatriots to «look and think outside the box». The main theme of the event in the Common Memory. One of the central pieces is RAPPU (Staircase) installation by art duo SASHAPASHA telling the story of Soviet communal apartment.

Not only exhibitions but also discussions, dance and theater performanes, and even culinary master classes will be conducted In the frames of this art forum. The head of Cultura foundation Pekko Kohonen that organisers hold negotiations with local administrations of other Finnish cities to conduct festival next year in expanded version.

CulturaFest is to conclude on November, 5th with “kitchen talks” - non-official conversations with artists and other participants who have made this festival possible.
