Opening Reception of Echoes of the Blast: Art, Faith and Culture 100 Years After the Revolution exhibition took place today at James Chapel, New York.
“The exhibition features works by some of the top contemporary artists to have emerged from the Russian cultural space that produced the Great Revolution, the most obviously colossal event in the history under consideration,” - organisers advise. Among these artists are those born after the Russian revolution, some of them are born after World War Two but were influenced by the country's dramatic history. Among them are Olga Nenazhivina, Oleg Vasiliev, Igor Tiulpanov, Elena Sarni, Konstantin Khudyakov, Vasily Kafanov, and Nikolai Mukhin. These Russian-born artists who have achieved success in the US, as well.
Over the course of the exhibition series of talks, panel discussions, presentations and round- tables will be held on topics related to various aspects of the exhibition’s themes.
