Andrey Karlov commemorated in Ankara

19rus.infoThe commemorative ceremony dedicated to Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov took place the day before in Russian Embassy in Turkey, TASS reports. It was arranged in honor of death anniversary of Russian Ambassador to Turkey. It is worth reminding that Andrey Karlov was killed on December 19 at the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition in Center of Contemporary Arts in Ankara. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called this a terrorist act. Jaish Al-Fateh coalition including Jebhat al-Nusra terrorist group banned in Russia took the responsibility for this murder.

Representatives of more than seventy countries from Embassies in Ankara visited the Russian diplomatic mission.

The memory of the Ambassador was commemorated by a minute of silence. Present Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexei Erkhov has emphasized that Andrey Karlov put a lot of efforts into reinforcement and development of relations between the two countries over the last years of his life. According to the Ambassador, the best illustrations of the above said would be kilometers of Turkish Flow, functioning reactors of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, millions of Russian tourists coming to Turkey, increased trade turnover and strengthened mutual interaction.

Deputy of Grand National Assembly of Turkey from the ruling party of justice and development and co-chairperson of Russian- Turkish Social Forum Berat Chonkar came to pay his respect to the murdered Andrey Karlov.

As per the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the memorial plate was opened on the building where the family of the killed Ambassador used to live.
