Memory Watch: All-Turkish Forum in Ankara is devoted to Siege of Leningrad

The 1st All-Turkish Forum entitled Memory Watch: Immortal Leningrad has been held in Ankara. Two public associations operating in the capital of Turkey organized it - the Association of Russian Culture and the Association of Russian-speaking youth, the Coordinationa Counsil of Russian Compatriots in Turkey says on Facebook. The forum was conducted with the support of the Russian World Foundation.

Forum participants gathered to recall the great feat of the besieged city residents. It will be always commemorated as symbol of endurance and courage of the whole country and its people.

According to the organizers, they wanted to widespread information about this tragic page in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The forum helps to preserve the historical memory of the events that occurred 77 years ago and played a huge role in the history of the Soviet Union.

The forum was participated by Russian Ambassador Alexey Yerkhov, leaders of compatriots' organizations, students and teachers of the Karlov School at the Russian diplomatic representation, people studying the Russian language in Turkish universities and many others.
