Moscow curiously follows Kiev's attempts of Saakashvili’s arrest

06.12.2017

Situation in Kiev related to ex-President of Georgia and former Governor of Odessa Mikhail Saakashvili reminds Astrid Lindgren's story Karlsson-on-the-Roof, according to Official Spokesperson of Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, RIA Novosti informs.

Svante, who is it? – Karlson asked his friend pointing at sloppy silhouette at the neighboring roof. - It is hard to say whether it is Georgian President or Odessa Governor, answered Svante yawning. What is he doing at the roof? Does not he have a propeller? – Karlson was puzzled. - No. He does not have a propeller, but he has perfect fuel! – Svante answered wistfully, Maria wrote at her social network’s account.

Ukrainian intelligence services searched the flat of the politician today. In an attempt to escape, Saakashvili climbed up to the roof of eight-storied building and threatened to jump down.

Later he was arrested. Ukrainian police grabbed him and took out of the house, made him sit into the car to take him to the police department. However, his adherents did not let the police do that. They blocked the car, pierced the wheels and set the politician free. After that he headed for Verkhovna Rada building.

Presidential Press Secretary of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has commented that the Kremlin is closely following the situation in Kiev. In his opinion, this incident is a headache for Ukrainian authorities, which one wouldn’t wish to the worst enemy. However, we do not consider the Ukrainian people as our enemy, of course, Peskov added.

According to the Presidential Press Secretary, Mikhail Saakashvili managed to make a colorful career in politics – from eating his tie to climbing up the roof.

General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko has assured that official Kiev is not planning to deport or extradite Saakashvili. At present, he is accused of an attempt of the state turnover.
