Vasily Nebenzya becomes Russian Permanent Representative to UN

Vasily Nebenzya has become the Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the UN Security Council, TASS reports. The corresponding decree was signed by Vladimir Putin.

New UN Permanent Representative is 65 years old. He speaks English and Spanish. The Russian diplomat worked as a senior adviser to the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. Later he was deputy permanent representative of the Russia to the United Nations in Geneva. For the last 4 years he’s served as the deputy foreign minister.

Let us remind you, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin, who had occupied the post during last 10 years, has passed away one day before his 65th birthday in February 2017.
