Russian Theater initiates Festival of literature in Estonia

30.05.2017

BaltNews Children's Literature Festival opens in Tallinn today for the fifth time. Russian Teather of Estonia organizes and inspires this great event.

Translations of Russian and Estonian poets will become the main topic of this festival. Famous Russian poet Mikhail Yasnov comes to the Estonian capital from St. Petersburg. Little readers and their parents will be also glad to see their favourite authors, such as Asya Petrova, Marta Slavina, Anastasia Strokina. Among Estonian poets are Leslo Tunggal, Yulee Kutsen and Markus Saksatamm.

Not only literature but also music will embellish the festival days. Composer Priit Pajusaar is going to describe how he is writing songs based on Leslo Tunggal poetry, and St. Petersburg singer Petr Tuchkov will perform his songs based on lyrics of Elena Skulskaya.

The other part of the festival is dedicated to Korney Chukovsky's poetry. Russian Teather of Estonia will present a performance that comprises several famous poem fairytales, such as The Crocodile, and the Monster Cockroach.
