Another round of World Games of Young Compatriots was kicked off in Kazan the previous day, Respublika Tatarstan paper reports. They are conducted for the third time this year. Russian-speaking sportsmen from almost fifty countries arrived at this beautiful old city on the Volga River. Sixty young men and women gathered in the capital of Tatarstan.
Young compatriots will compete in such kinds of sports as basketball, volleyball, mini-football, swimming and others. Games provide a wide cultural programme too. Dialogues in Russian intellectual game is planned, where guests will be able to broaden their knowledge of Russian culture, literature, history, geography and language. Participants of Russian Language Ambassadors to the World programme will play with them.
According to the famous sportswoman Irina Rodnina, who is heading All-Russian Federation of School Sports, it is not only sports, which are very important at the Games. Another essential component is that young people meet each other, get acquainted and feel unified.
Besides, this tournament is an opportunity for foreign children to get interested in our country and achieve satisfaction of the Russian language’ knowledge. That is exactly where foundation for mutual sympathy and understanding lies, Irina Rodnina is sure.
