Russian team wins 8 medals at the International Astronomy Olympiad

Russian participants won eight awards at the International Astronomy Olympiad in Beijing, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Education. 

Ekaterina Tyukhtikova from Moscow clinched gold and the absolute winner title. Silver medals went to Alexander Andreev, Yakov Bakhtiyarov, Alexander Belotserkovtsev, Anton Lotovich, Ivan Pruglo, and Mark Yakovlev. Ivan Alekseev from Saransk earned a bronze medal. 

The Olympiad featured three stages: theoretical, observational, and practical.
