Stanislav Govorukhin passed away

A renowned Russian film director Stanislav Govorukhin has passed away in the morning of June 14 after a long-lasting disease. He was 82 years old. According to the head of the lower house speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Govorukhin who was the State Duma deputy for several years, fought the severe disease until his last breath, but eventually failed, TASS reports.

His colleagues honored the memory of the chairman of the cultural committee with a minute of silence at the State Duma session.

Stanislav Govorukhin, the people’s artist of Russia, was a production director of the series The Place of Meeting can not be Changed, which remains one of the most favorite series of millions of people. He directed such movies as the Vertical, Voroshilovsky Shooter and many others. Govorukhin was a screenwriter of such films as the Russian Riot and in June of the 41st.

The last of his works was the movie called the End of a Beautiful Era dedicated to the life and literary heritage of Sergei Dovlatov.
