Russian artist Vladimir Yankilevsky died in Paris

L'Observateur RusseNon-Conformist artist Vladimir Yankilevsky died in Paris just a month shy of his 80th birthday, L'Observateur Russe reports.

Yankilevsky was the youngest participant of the famous New Reality exhibition in Manege in 1962, harshly criticized by Khrustchev. The artist was the youngest of Russian emigrants in Paris, as well.

For the last few years he was working in a beautiful well-lighted studio in Paris, where his large-format works fit well. In 2016 Vladimir Yankilevsky enjoyed the personal The Collection exhibition opening in Centre Georges Pompidou.

Yankilevsky is thought to be the pioneer and the founder of Moscow conceptualism. His works are easy-recognized, his style is well-known and highy distinctive. Vladimir Yankilevsky pieces are placed in private collections and in art museums around the world.
