Russian movie receives Karlovy Vary Film Festival award

vk.comRussian crime story How Viktor ‘the Garlic’ Took Alexey ‘the Stud’ to the Nursing Home by Alexander Hant scored the East of the West prize at the Czech Republic’s Karlovy Vary Film Festival, TASS reports.

While accepting the prize Alexander Hant has mentioned that he didn't expect such a success. Mainly he was looking forward to encounter his colleagues from all parts of the world. The director expressed strong gratitude and happiness that his work was noted by jury. He has also thanked the crew for the awesome collaboration on the project.

Little Crusader, a Czech-Slovak medieval quest film by Vaclav Kadrnka won the Crystal Globe for best film at this Central and Eastern Europe’s leading movie event. Noteworthy, that it is the first time in 15 years that a local film has won the top prize at the festival.

The main film festival program has started with Boris Khlebnikov's Arrhythmia that tells a story of an EMT paramedic going through a family crisis. The Main Actor prize was given to Alexander Yatsenko who has played the lead role. It's worth mentioning that this feature has already received Gran Prix at Kinotavr Film Contest in Sochi.
