The Russian film ''Holy Archipelago'' by Sergei Debizhev won the prize of the Chinese Academy of Documentary Film in the ''Best Cinematography'' category. Previously, the film received prizes in Australia, Brazil, and European countries, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The filmmakers noted that the award is very prestigious in China, where it is called ''China's Oscar for documentary film.''

The attache of the Russian diplomatic mission in China, Konstantin Ashikhmin, received the award on behalf of Russian filmmakers. According to him, the prize shows significant cultural ties and exchanges between Russia and China.

Previously, the film won over 30 professional awards around the world, starting with the Moscow International Film Festival.
