The Russian Winter Christmas festival opened in Shuayfet, Lebanon, on the evening of December, 22. The festive event, organized by the Russian House in Beirut, will be held in the Orthodox Church of St. Michael,  the telegram channel of the Russian House in the Lebanese capital reports.

The Russian song choir ''Lyubava'', the ballet school ''Katyusha'' and the dance studio ''Angel'' will perform for the guests of the evening. As part of the festival, a folk art fair will open, where  nesting dolls, scarves and other Russian souvenirs will be sold.

St. Michael's Church was built in Shuayfet in the mid-19th century; it resumed services in 2017 after a long closure for restoration. Some of the church items were delivered from Russia.
