Festivals of Russian culture took place in Azerbaijan. They were carried out with the assistance of the Moscow Department of External Economic and International Relations, the Moscow agency reports. The forums were aimed at popularizing the Russian language and literary heritage among the younger generation. Their participants were high school students studying Russian. Students of Azerbaijani schools could also take part in the events.

The Russian language festival was dedicated to famous writers and poets. The number of its participants exceeded 3,000 people. The competition covered the entire country, which indicates great interest on the part of young people in studying the Russian language and literature.

The winners were announced at the end of December at a gala concert in the Araz center. The ceremony was attended by the head of the Russian diplomatic mission, Mikhail Evdokimov, representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo, school directors, and representatives of the Ministry of Education.

The Moscow-Baku festival included round table discussions in 40 cities. They were dedicated to measures to develop the Russian language and support compatriots.

In particular, thanks to the Moscow Mayor's Scholarship educational program, 22 excellent students from republican universities receive additional funding.

In addition, a conference was held dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Russian community in Azerbaijan.
