St. Petersburg hosts the BRICS+ International Municipal Forum

More than 60 countries take part in the International Municipal Forum of the BRICS+ countries in St. Petersburg, TASS reports. The forum will start on Thursday, November 9, and it will be the fifth in a row. Among the topics to be discussed by its participants will be the development of cities and IT-sphere, strengthening of interaction in the humanitarian sphere, promotion of tourism and many others.

According to the organizers, they expect at least 7,000 people. About a third of them represent cities from abroad. The participants include representatives from ministries, various governmental levels, entrepreneurs, public figures, scientists, and other specialists.

The program of the two-day forum includes more than 120 events. Sessions and round tables are complemented by chess and rugby tournaments, presentations of investment projects. 

The forum holds special importance for the association as it precedes Russia's upcoming presidency in BRICS and the expected inclusion of 6 more countries next year.

As Russkiy Mir reported, the association  is set to include Argentina, Egypt, Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia.
