Russian Ballet Theater brought Nutcracker and Swan Lake to China

Tchaikovsky’s ballets The Nutcracker and Swan Lake have been brought to Chinese audiences, My Native Moscow Region reports. The Russian Ballet academic theater are on tour in China. Residents of Beijing, Chengdu, Such Jou, Shanghai and other cities are getting acquainted with the legends of world ballet classics.

The artistic director of the Russian Ballet, Vyacheslav Gordeev, recalled that the theater had been friends with China for a long period. According to him, Russian ballet enjoys great love in the country, Russian teachers are invited to work and teach in choreographic schools and colleges.

In October, dancers from the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater will take part in the Primorsky Krai cultural festival in Harbin. Chinese lovers of classical choreography will see Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty, which has long become one of the hallmarks of the Russian ballet school.

The Bolshoi Ballet performed in China in the summer. Russian dancers took to the stage of the National Center for the Performing Arts, where the hall seats almost 2,500 people.

In July, the Chinese tour of the Mari Theater ballet troupe ended. Over the course of 1,5 months, the ballets dancers performed Tchaikovsky’s ''Swan Lake'' in 20 cities, and everywhere the performances were a great success. In the spring, the Imperial Russian Ballet performed in China.
