The Dutch Ministry of Defense has issued a ban on its military personnel from participating in sports competitions in which Russian or Belarusian military personnel also compete. The ban came after the publication of a photograph showing Russians and the Dutch next to national flags at judo competitions, TASS reports.

The picture was taken about half a month ago during the opening of an international judo tournament in the Dominican Republic, which was attended by military personnel from Russia, the Netherlands and many other countries.

After that, the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands issued an order banning the military from competing in the same competitions as Russians and Belarusians. The media note that the corresponding decision was made by the Dutch Minister of Defense Kaisa Ollengren.

It is noted that Russians and Belarusians perform in competitions between the military under national flags, since the rules of the International Military Sports Council do not imply exclusion of countries from competitions.
