The Kyiv authorities have announced that they had terminated the agreement with the Russian Embassy on the lease of a land plot, RIA Novosti reports. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that the city council also appealed to the government regarding the return of property to state ownership.

The idea to terminate the contract came up with representatives of the Servant of the People party in early April. The deputies declared that the land should be nationalized.

The building of the Russian diplomatic mission is located on Povitroflotsky Prospekt in the Solomensky district of Kyiv.

Employees of Russian foreign missions were evacuated from Ukraine a year ago for security reasons.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev is sure that Moscow should take tit-for-tat measures to these actions of the Kyiv regime.

As Russkiy Mir reported, two days ago the Finnish authorities tried to arrest the building of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office and a land plot in Helsinki. The sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia was called the reason for this decision. The very next day, the arrest was cancelled. There are no grounds for seizure of property, said the head of the department for the collection of debts in Finland.
