The Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe is headed by Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon, TASS reports. He was appointed to this position by the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. Previously, it was headed by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, who now heads the Department for External Church Relations (DECR) of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Archbishop Nestor was appointed Bishop of Madrid and Lisbon in 2018. The temporary administration of the Korsun diocese was entrusted to him at the beginning of the summer.

Bishop Alexy of Kafa, Austrian vicar of the Korsun diocese, became the Bishop of Vienna.
