Moscow celebrates 875th anniversary with concerts, exhibitions and fireworks

The celebrations of the 875th anniversary of the city have started in Moscow, the main events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Mass celebrations, theatrical performances, concerts, fashion shows and other events take place in the central squares and city parks. Over the weekend, Tverskaya Street became a 1.5-kilometer-long festive platform, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.


On Saturday afternoon, a concert marathon will open on Poklonnaya Gora, both Russian pop stars and novice performers will take the stage. A lot of celebrities will gather and a concert near the Muzeon park.

Festivals and concerts will also be held on the Boulevard Ring. Festive celebrations are held not only in the center of Moscow, but at the suburbs as well. 

On Saturday evening, the capital will celebrate its birthday with large-scale fireworks. Fiery drawings in the sky will be seen from 23 sites.
