Compatriots living abroad are increasingly becoming victims of aggression and harassment, the Russian Foreign Ministry states. According to Ivan Volynkin, who heads the consular department, the MFA continuously monitors the legal status of Russian citizens abroad. Facts of insults, threats, violence, persecution are recorded, he explained.

Special hotlines operate in Russian diplomatic missions. They are available for compatriots who have experienced discrimination on linguistic, national, cultural, religious or other grounds. There is also a Rossotrudnichestvo hotline.

Volynkin assured that the employees of the Russian embassies and consulates are ready to provide the necessary assistance with relocating to Russia.

Since May, a special working group for the implementation of the resettlement program has been operating. It provides information on resettlement to Russia. Contact details are available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Russian foreign diplomatic missions.
