Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey plan to join the BRICS, the Izvestia newspaper reports citing the President of the BRICS International Forum, Purnima Anand.

According to Anand, a decision on some of the states' admission can be made at the next summit of the association, which will be held in 2023. The experts interviewed by Izvestia noted that Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey are promising candidates, but the process of their admission will not be quick ans is not likely to happen at the same time.

Earlier, it became known that Tehran and Buenos Aires had applied to join BRICS.

Moscow, in turn, assured that they supported the expansion of the BRICS. Nevertheless, according to Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, the Russian authorities believe that it is first of all important to establish the procedure for entry and determine the requirements for possible candidates.
