The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation called the Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn's decision to expell the employees of Russian embassies provocative.

On Tuesday, March 29, the ambassadors of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia were summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.  Moscow believes that the expulsion of diplomats has no basis.

As a response, Russia expels four Lithuanian diplomats, three Latvian and three Estonian diplomats from the country. They must leave Russian territory within the same timeframes that were set aside for the departure of employees of Russian diplomatic missions from the Baltic countries.
