The Day of Family, Love and Faithfulness is celebrated on Thursday, July 8, TASS reports. The day of memory of the saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom are chosen for this holiday. Since ancient times, the couple has been revered as a symbol of marital fidelity.

The history of the Murom prince Peter and the daughter of the Ryazan beekeeper Fevronia is described in the Old Russian chronicle. The girl who lived in the 13th century healed a man from a fatal disease. Falling in love with each other, the couple lived together all their lives, despite all the obstacles, and died in one hour. Various actions and events are planned for the holiday in many regions of the country. In Moscow, everyone will be invited to VDNKh exhibition center, where  "Love in the Universe" and "And they lived happily ever after" excursions are going to take place. Moscow parks have prepared an online program.

In Murom, like last year, they decided to abandon a large-scale concert. Believers are invited to visit the Holy Trinity Convent to venerate the relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom.

Volgograd residents will be taught how to make an old amulet doll. In Krasnoyarsk, a suite from the opera by Rimsky-Korsakov "The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia" will be performed in the open air.
