The costume of the Russian Seasons project will be given to the legendary Manneken-Pis (also known as the Peeing Boy). The famous statue-fountain is a symbol of the capital of Belgium, which this year hosts the festival of Russian culture. The action is scheduled for October 28, TASS reports.

Manneken-Pis has a long tradition of dressing up. It has existed for three centuries. The statue has already tried on more than 1,000 costumes during its existence. They were brought to Brussels by presidents, heads of government, representatives of various organizations. The participation of foreign states in the beautiful Belgian tradition occurs only for very important reasons, which makes the action in cooperation with the Russian side especially significant.

According to Alexei Lebedev, who heads the festival, this year has become a huge challenge. Many events had to be postponed, and even canceled. The organizers were forced to adjust plans to adapt to the unfavorable epidemiological situation.

Alexey Lebedev expressed gratitude to Belgium for the opportunity to take part in such an interesting tradition.

The ceremony of donating the Russian costume to the Belgian authorities by the Russian Embassy will take place at the Brussels City Hall. Then a solemn procession will pass through the city, which will end with the "dressing" of the symbol of Brussels. The gift will take its place in the city's museum, where a whole hall is allotted to the peeing boy's costumes.
