Russian Maria Lasitskene has won the gold medal in high jump at the World Championships in Athletics, which takes place in Doha. Lasickene was the first athlete in history to win three gold medals at three world champions. In the capital of Qatar, the Russian woman competes as a neutral athlete due to the disqualification of the Russian athletics federation, TASS reports.

At the World Cup, the Russian became the best with the achievement of 2.04 meters, Maria Lasitskene almost set a world record. The Russian woman and the Ukrainian Yaroslav Maguchih took the same bar, but Lasickens conquered this height on the first try, and Maguchih on the third. The U.S. representative Vashti Cunningham won the bronze competition.

For several years, Maria Lasitskene has been the undisputed leader in her discipline. According to experts, to become one of the great athletes, the Russian woman needs the Olympic gold. For the previous summer Games in 2016, which took place in Brazil, the Russian woman came up in a brilliant form, but was suspended along with the entire Russian team.

According to Maria Lasitskene, she is nervous about the situation with the ban on competing under the Russian flag - she dreams of winning with as the representative of Russia. The athlete promised to do everything possible to perform at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
