Maria Lasitskene claims to be the best athlete

cska.ruRussian track and field athlete Maria Lasitskene was nominated as the best field athlete by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), IA Interfax reported. There are 10 men and 10 women nominated.

Maria Lasitskene has to perform under the neutral banner because All-Russian Athletics Federation being suspended from The IAAF membership because of doping allegations.

Not just professionals but also fans can participate in the voting which will complete in two weeks. Only 3 men and 3 women will have to be chosen. Award ceremony will take place in Monaco at the end of November.

Maria Lasitskene has become two-time World Champion first time in the Russian sports history. She has won all 18 starts during the course of the summer season.
