Fifth World Youth Forum of Russian Compatriots Opens in Sofia

The Fifth World Youth Forum of Russian compatriots opens in the capital of Bulgaria. Round tables, section sessions, intellectual and business games, project presentations, performances and tours are going to take place for several days. The forum was organized with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. This is the largest international meeting of representatives of Russian-speaking youth organizations.

Among the organizers of the  forum in Bulgaria are the Federation of the Union of Compatriots and the National  Together with Russia Society. The assistance is provided by the Russian Embassy, ​​the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad, the Fund for Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad, the authorities of Moscow and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Rossotrudnichestvo, Gazprom Export in Bulgaria.

Over one hundred and thirty people have come to Sofia. They represent almost fifty different states, from Belarus to the United Arab Emirates, from Kyrgyzstan to Luxembourg.

The central theme of the meeting is “Youth builds the future”. It is planned to discuss the goals and prospects of development of youth organizations, the problems of preserving historical memory, popularizing Russian culture and education, strengthening the ties of immigrants from our country with their historical motherland, protecting the rights of compatriots, preparing for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, and many others.

Russian parliamentarians, diplomats, representatives of public organizations, ministries and departments are going to be the honored guests of the forum.

As a result of the forum, a resolution and decisions will be adopted designed to develop the world youth movement and international cooperation, preserve historical memory, attract young compatriots from abroad to implement joint projects and study at Russian universities.
