The street, named after the Russian capital, may appear in Zagreb, TASS reports. In turn, Moscow administration wants to assign the name of the capital of Croatia to one of the city squares.

According to Russian Ambassador Anvar Azimov, with the help of the mayor of the city Milan Bandic, three monuments were erected in Zagreb. Busts of Russian poets Alexander Pushkin and Sergey Yesenin adorn the largest parks of the city today. A monument to the first cosmonaut of the planet, Yuri Gagarin, also appeared in the capital of Croatia.

Moscow authorities decided to name the square after Zagreb. To date, there is already an agreement on this in the mayor's office. It is only necessary to wait for the official appeal from the Croatian diplomats. The Ambassador explained that this is necessary to comply with all formalities. The discussion about the area is continuing.

Bandic, in turn, intends to name one of the city avenues in honor of Moscow. The procedure here is much simpler, Azimov specified. He assured that Mayor of Zagreb does a lot to perpetuate the memory of Russians in Croatia.
