The geography of the Russian seasons, which will be held next year in France, will cover several dozen cities in twelve regions of the country, TASS reports. More than two hundred and seventy events are planned during the festival.

According to Alexey Lebedev, who heads the festival, more than two hundred and seventy events are planned during the event, including exhibitions, film screenings, performances of drama theaters and ballet dancers.

For the first time, Russian Seasons will go beyond the borders of one country as France will be joined by Belgium and Luxembourg.

Spectators will see performances of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters and listen to leading symphony orchestras. The Theater of Nations will go on French tours at the beginning of the year.

One of the most interesting projects in the framework of the Russian Seasons will be a joint plein air. Five French young artists will come to Russia, five Russians will work in France. They will choose the places that they would like to capture on canvas themselves.

A large-scale exhibition of Orthodox icons will take place as part of the Days of Spiritual Culture, as well as the Flowers of Russia children's creativity festival, exhibitions of folk crafts and national costumes and many other events.

Сultural luminaries from Russia and France are going to exchange experiences and outline joint plans during a special meeting.

Russkiy Mir reported that the Russian Seasons would become a very large-scale event in France. Russian museums intend to show many masterpieces from their collections that rarely leave Russia to French art lovers. Visitors will see works by Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso and other prominent impressionists from the collections of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Hermitage and the Tretyakov Gallery.
